What is in the box

We do not just sell the robot. We sell the robot plus the path you walk with it.

Included policies
walksit / standcrouchkickfall recoverygait variations

Semi-assembled kit

Torso and head assembled; you build the legs and calibrate the 14 servos.

Pre-loaded policies

Walk, sit/stand, crouch, kick and fall recovery, trained by us for this robot. Gait variations we publish on the Hub arrive as updates.

Game controller

Drive the duck from day one, before training anything.

Course and community

Guided path in Portuguese: simulation, RL training and sim2real. In-person workshops in Leiria.

The path

Three stages. Each ends with the duck doing something it could not do before.

01

Build and calibrate

Legs, Feetech servos, wiring. At the end the duck stands and answers the controller with our policies.

02

Simulate and train

MuJoCo + PPO on an NVIDIA GPU: your own PC or a cloud machine. Change the reward, train a new gait, compare it with ours.

03

Sim2real

Export the policy, run it on the onboard Radxa and see what simulation did not tell you. Then back to 02.

Questions and terms

Is the deposit refundable?

Yes, in full, until the go/no-go decision on 15 November. After that, only if we cannot deliver.

What if there are not enough reservations?

We only buy parts for kits already reserved, so there is no idle stock. With fewer than 20 deposits on 1 November we close a batch of 30 at the same price and deliver in January — or refund your deposit, your choice.

When do I pay the remaining €400?

When the kit ships. You get a Stripe link by email; no payment, no shipping.

I reserved after 1 November. Do I get it before Christmas?

You get the Christmas box before the 23rd: printed shell, course access and a voucher. The full kit arrives in January, at the €499 launch price.

Is it a toy?

No. It is educational material for 14+, with 7.4 V servos and a lithium battery. Batch 1 ships with a declaration of conformity based on pre-certified modules; EMC testing closes in batch 2.

Do I need to know how to code?

Not to build it and use the included policies. For the training path, basic Python is enough — the course starts there.

Can I use the CAD and software?

Yes. The robot is based on Open Duck Mini v2 (Antoine Pirrone) and the Microduck software (Pollen Robotics), both Apache-2.0. Print parts, modify and publish, keeping the licence and credits.
